Special School for Children with Intellectual Disabilities
St. Ann’s Special School provides specialized education, training, and rehabilitation services for children with intellectual disabilities. The program supports children with mild, moderate, severe, and multiple disabilities through individualized teaching and therapeutic interventions. It focuses on holistic development by strengthening academic abilities, life skills, communication, and social interaction. The school addresses gaps in access to quality special education caused by social stigma and limited awareness in rural areas. With trained educators and a supportive learning environment, children gain confidence and independence. The program empowers families by reducing long-term dependency and promoting inclusive growth. Supported by the Tamil Nadu Government, the initiative benefits nearly 50 children every year.
